Break the Glass: Thought Leadership Academy

WANT TO BE A BIG DEAL?
POSITION YOURSELF AS SUCH

Life feels dissatisfying when you are a giant walking softly, a leader who goes unseen or you’re lost in the narratives of living — unable to see lessons learned, paths to success or greatness earned. No other skill can change the direction of your life like telling your story.

You are a leader whose destiny is recorded in the annals of your story. It has given you the power to persuade and to shape lives — but more importantly, it’s given you the power to see yourself as you have been created and to see your name in places you’ve never seen before.

Break the Glass: Thought Leadership Academy  is a 12-week leadership and personal development curriculum for leaders ready to translate the chronicles of their history and write their names in the journals of the present day. This program is designed to peel back the layers of all the things you were told you “should” be to get to the heart of who you truly are. When you are a hero living without a mission, everything suffers like esteem, health, wealth and relationships. This is a journey into your life with your story as the foundation. Learn how to leverage your unique perspective across all industries and all the roles you take on.

Break the Glass: Thought Leadership Academy is the only leadership and personal development curriculum for women across the world who feel left out of the life they desire and want to develop their voice and leadership skills by using their stories to course correct this unfortunate era of women being more seen than heard.

Who is Break the Glass for?

This leadership storytelling program is ideal for women in industries where they need to show up boldly (Hint: no industry requires you to not to— even if you’re an introvert). This program is designed to assist you in building your thought leadership which means broadening your public speaking and presentation skills, writing skills as well as your confidence in storytelling, relationships and leadership.

Break the Glass: Thought Leadership Academy is for ambitious professionals who are ready to make a significant impact in their careers. It is ideal for mid to senior level leaders, executives in C-suite positions, business owners, coaches and consultants, project managers, and professionals in nonprofit and government sectors. Whether you aim to enhance your leadership capabilities, drive organizational performance, or elevate your personal brand, this program provides the tools, insights, and strategies to help you achieve your goals. Additionally, women who are in higher-education can benefit by taking the skills they are learning while earning a degree and start their thought leadership as they launch their careers.

Why Thought Leadership?

Women are demanding more from their professional lives, seeking fair compensation, equal opportunities, and inclusive work environments. Thought leadership plays a vital role in achieving these aspirations. By establishing thought leadership, women can set the value of their expertise, gain confidence in promoting their accomplishments, contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion conversations, and create flexible career paths that align with their values and goals.

Women’s leadership and women in the workplace has been studied extensively by numerous sources – each producing similar results.

According to the Center for American Progress, women make up the majority of the population at 50.8%.

Women earn:

  • 60% of undergraduate degrees

  • 60% of all master’s degrees.

  • 47% of all law degrees

  • 48% of all medical degrees.

  • 44% of master’s degrees in business and management; 37% of MBAs.

Women are 47% of the U.S. labor force; 59% of the college-educated. Women are 52% of all professional-level jobs and still lag behind in leadership positions.

And in the nonprofit sector, women make up 75% of workers but hold far less than 75% of leadership positions according to the AAUW, Broken Ladders report. Additionally, women make up 56% of chief executives at nonprofits with annual budgets of less than $1M, but make up 22% of chief executives at organizations with annual budgets of at least $50M.

In our work, we have found what challenges most women is not what’s above them but what’s around them.

It’s not about glass ceilings, but rather glass confinements – the boxes we put ourselves in.

When women do not know who they are, their power, or their worth, they live life like a mannequin in a box with a memo: in case of emergency, break glass.

This is that moment.

Breaking the glass requires action.

Breaking the glass requires becoming.

Breaking the glass requires a witness.

The numbers tell the story whether climbing the corporate ladder or starting and running business:

  • Employees who are recognized as thought leaders are 10 times more likely to be promoted within their organizations, as reported by LinkedIn.

  • Research by LinkedIn shows that 52% of business professionals are more likely to do business with a company whose executives are active thought leaders.

  • A study by Edelman found that 58% of business decision-makers actively seek out thought leadership content to inform their purchasing decisions.

AND as for women, only 31% of professional event speakers globally are women, which is one of the best ways to demonstrate your thought leadership.

Through thought leadership, you have the opportunity to shape the conversation, drive innovation, and inspire others. Learn to effectively communicate your ideas, insights, and expertise to a wider audience — and articulate your unique perspective, challenge conventional thinking, and offer valuable solutions and thought-provoking content.

IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT SKILLS
IT’S ABOUT BELIEF

here’s what we know:

While skills can be learned and developed, belief systems and emotional intelligence form the foundation of effective leadership. Understanding your own beliefs, values, and motivations allows you to lead authentically and inspire others to follow. It is through self-awareness that you gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, limitations, and areas for growth, enabling you to make better decisions and build more meaningful connections with your yourself and team.

Emotional intelligence, another crucial aspect of leadership, involves recognizing and managing your own emotions as well as understanding and empathizing with the emotions of others. It is the ability to navigate interpersonal relationships, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively — including recognizing the stories you tell yourself and identifying the actions resulting from those stories.
